This week has been very busy, we got our Junior Cert results on Wednesday and we went to visit Castletown House on Thursday!
On Wednesday I was really nervous because I really didn't know what to expect when I got my results. We came into school at 12 o'clock which was good because I got to stay in bed for an extra hour and a half! When I was given the envelope with my results in it I was really scared to actually open it but when I did I was so relieved to find that I actually did really well, I was delighted! All my hard work in third year had paid off and I couldn't wait to celebrate.
At half one on Thursday we got a bus to Casteltown House, I was happy to go there because I was really tired from Wednesday night and we got time off from school work. We got a tour around the house, which was really interesting because the house was built in the 1700's, I saw a few of the rooms including the stables, the entrance hall, the dining room, the green silk room, the red silk room, the print room and the entertaining room. I really enjoyed the trip to Castletown House, we got to learn about the history of the Connolly family and Celbridge.

Workshops :)
Hi Everyone,
This week we had our very first transition year workshops! There were three workshops, the first one was on personal development. it was presented by Austen and it was great fun! We had to share our most embarrassing moments and our personal achievements. We had a great laugh listening to everyones embarrassing moments.
The second workshop was about relaxation, we learnt how to do a shoulder massage. We were told to get into groups of two and take turns to give each other a massage. I went in a group of three with my friends because there was an odd number, so i didn't get the chance to get a massage.
The final workshop was a positive party. Positive parties are used to encourage a good and positive attitude to life through music and games. we got to play musical statues, listen to music, eat sweets, share our favorite memories and even dance the hokey pokey! It was a great evening to end our day of workshops :)

Un Nuevo Año!
Hi everyone,
Today Im going to write my first TY Blog, Im not to sure what to write so Im just going to tell you all about my first few days of my Transition Year experience. I was quite nervous on the first day because I was worried about who would be in my class, but when Mrs L called out the new TY class groups for 2013/2014 I was delighted to hear that I was with all of my friends. I am now in class Tabei, named after the first women to reach the top of Mount Everest!
On Friday I went to my first Technology class ever! We were given a piece of red plastic each and were thought how to make a key-ring. I didn't really know how to use all of the tools so I had to get my friends who did Technology for Junior Cert to help me. The class went really fast so I didn't get it finished.
I also went to a Home Ec class, which was interesting because I didn't do Home Ec for Junior Cert. We were told about the Junk Kouture competition that we are going to be participating in, we have to create a dress out of recycled material and then get someone in our group to model it! It should be great fun!
I really enjoyed my first two days in TY and I know theres more fun to come!! :)
